The Senators were at Boston's TD Garden on Saturday night to play just their eighth road game all season, fewer than any NHL team. But given their lack of success far from friendly confines, they've got to be grateful.
Although they're 10-3-3 with five straight victories at Scotiabank Place, they're just 3-4-0 and losers of three straight on the road. With the contest against the Bruins the start of a five-game road trip that will take the Senators on a circuit of the West Coast, they were hoping their winning ways at home would follow.

Jason Spezza got a little extra satisfaction out of the Ottawa Senators' latest home win. Nick Foligno scored a power-play goal with 6:10 left to help Ottawa beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 2-1 on Thursday night. Foligno moved out from behind the net to put a backhander past Steve Mason with Columbus defenseman Jan Hejda in the penalty box.

Patrik Elias knew the first goal was a just a matter of time. After missing the first 13 games because of a groin injury, Elias had been playing his way back into shape over the previous seven games.
